Única candidata para assumir o comando do Novo Banco do Desenvolvimento (NDB) do Brics, a ex-presidente Dilma Roussef (PT) foi eleita, por unanimidade, na manhã desta sexta-feira (24) para chefiar o órgão. O nome de Roussef foi indicado pelo presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) e o seu mandato está previsto para encerrar em julho de 2025.

Nesta manhã, os ministros da Fazenda dos países que formam o Brics: Brasil, Rússia, Índia, China e África do Sul, se reuniram por meio de uma videoconferência para eleger a petista. Ela deverá assumir o cargo na próxima quarta-feira (29), e se mudará para Xangai, na China, onde fica a sede do banco.

A posse de Dilma deve contar com a presença do presidente Lula (PT), que deve passar na cidade entre os dias 29 e 31 deste mês. Atualmente, o NDB investe US$ 4 bilhões no Brasil, principalmente em rodovias e portos.

Com o novo cargo Rousseff, deve receber um salário de pelo menos R$ 290 mil no novo cargo. Segundo o último balanço anual divulgado pelo NBD, o total pago em salários e benefícios aos seis postos de chefia do banco — formados pela presidência e cinco vice-presidências — é de US$4 milhões por ano.
